I heard you yesterday.
I heard how you ache at the not knowing if sharing your stories matters. Or worse yet, the wondering if it was worth sharing if no one shows up to read.
It made me think. What if we took a day. One day. And sat around together, slumped over sofas, feet up on the coffee table, comfortably folded into chairs, across futons, stretched out on the floor and just reveled in each other’s stories. What if we ate them like so much rich chocolate and shared them around and said, “Here, try this one – the center is soft and nougaty or sweet and unexpected or dark, dark bittersweet all the way through.”
What is the one post from this year or month or week that you wish more people had read?
Link it up below. Let’s share them. Let’s revel in them. Let’s read them.
I think you and your words are mighty fine and worth splurging on. Let’s tuck in and savor every scrumptious one. And be sure and share how good they were. Link up your favorite favorite, and then go back and read the one before you. Read, savor, and then leave a comment telling the author what it meant to you. Share what you loved, how it spoke to you, the words that were the richest.
And before you know it, we will have eaten up every last post that should never have been overlooked to begin with.
You are, each one of you, more unique by far than the best confections the world has to offer.
You are created.
I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14.
You are chosen.
The Lord has chosen you to be His treasured possession. Deuteronomy 14:2.
You are celebrated.
He will take great delight in you…He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17.
You are cherished.
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. Jeremiah 31:3.
And I’d like to give one of you who links up and reads someone else’s post this beautiful reminder from DaySpring of God’s Heart for You.
Take one day and savor the words of your sisters. I’m going to try and read every single post that’s shared. And on Friday we’ll feel full and appreciated and perhaps that littlest bit less foolish and alone.
I’ll go first….
My phone won’t let me link up… Lisa-Jo, if you have time, would you please link me up for this post, please? http://thepartythatneverquits.blogspot.com/2010/10/bloggy-twitterverse-interwebs.html
I am without computer capabilities for at least another week. (I may or may not be twitching)
Done! :) What would a choco-fest be without a friend from Oz to join in, eh?
I guess this must be a bad week for Jennifers and computers! My laptop screen is broken, and it sure does take forever to try to do anything by my phone! How did people survive in the 1800s? ;)
Oh indeed. And Cadbury’s is so very much nicer than Hershey’s.
Thanks Lovey :)
SO. VERY. MUCH.
What a fun idea!! I love this! :) Thanks for giving us an opportunity to discover each other.
Lisa-Jo, you have a gift that invites, encourages and shines like Christ. You are such a reflection of Him and I am blessed by you! Look forward to reading some of these stories.
P.S. Check your inbox! I sent a gift for you, straight down from the Father of Lights!
Much love, sister.
I love this idea! I think we all have things we’ve written that we publish, hearts in our throats, and wait for someone to respond to.
And you, Lisa-Jo? You’re cinnamon sugar, that’s what you are. :)
I love this as well Lisa-Jo; you have such a loving heart! I can’t wait to read (and re-read!) these beautiful posts! Such a neat way to encourage others!
Thanks Lisa-Jo, love this idea! And the chocolate would be a delight to share with you!
I’ve linked up to a post that I didn’t write on my ‘other’ blog – LFS Introducing…, where I invite friends to share about things they are very passionate about – there are some inspiring stories of people stepping out to do something…and I wish more people would leave comments on the posts to encourage those who have had the courage to share!
I would love if any of you would read and leave comments for the people who have shared – some of you I think will know some of the previous guests. And I know it will encourage them.
Found this post via Twitter and love the idea! Thanks for hosting!
Yay – so glad you came in, Jamie. Pull up a chair, there’s plenty of chocolate to go around.
Oh Lisa-Jo. You have warmed my heart, just with your writing here. I want to cry, just reading. Thank you for offering us a chance to open our hearts, and to receive.
Great idea – thanks for such a wonderful simile, I love chocolate! :)
Such a fun idea!! I can’t wait to curl up during my little guy’s naptime this afternoon and read some of the beautiful posts here! This just made my day! =)
Lisa-Jo, you are such an encourager. Thank you for the ministry you have for women. Your writing always speaks to me, and even though I haven’t commented much this week (computer’s broken, and I type way too slowly on my phone), your posts have warmed my heart. Thank you!
Hi, Lisa-Jo,
I just tested my link, and I messed up. I don’t know how to delete it. I’d like to try again if you’d let me! (Forgive me and my lack of technological skills!)
It’s all taken care of :)
I’m not much of a candy-maker, but I’m very good at eating! Especially since it is dairy-free, wheat-free and sugar-free! :)
I love this. My coffee mug has now run dry, and I have children to attend to, but I will be back to read more posts later today!
Lisa-Jo! You truly understand the community of blogging! What a beautiful idea. Thanks for letting me link up–it’s not that I wish MORE people had read this post but it’s THE post that I re-read to myself most often. The one in which God actually spoke to me.
Thank you, friend.
a
Thanks. It’s hard when you have something important to say, and wish your voice could reach more people to say it to.
What a beautiful idea! Looking forward to listening to the voices of my computer sisters!
Lisa-Jo,
Thank you so much for this opportunity. I can’t wait to have some time (maybe late at night when everyone is asleep) to kick back and read these posts.
Just choosing a post of my own reminded me of what God has done this year. The post I linked is from this past summer when troubles were brewing all around me. One situation which involved my little sister. One of my recent posts is an amazing testimony of what God has done in her life in that short time. It encouraged me to see how far she has come in the Lord since June of this year.
Thank you, again, for this opportunity! (P.S. My thumbnail wasn’t such a great choice and now I’m a little embarrassed about my face leaping off the page. But I did get a good laugh once it linked. ;) This is why we women should not over think things.)
Much love,
Rena Gunther
what a great idea!! truly, so thoughtful of you…so encouraging.
but, did I have to chose just one? :) yes, I did…but I often feel this way: does anyone even read what I say?
So, thank you.
Lisa-Jo — What an incredibly generous idea. You are the bee’s knees! I am going to read your fav right now…and maybe a few others. There are so many!
Thanks for the opportunity to share, for the encouragement and for opening the heart our Lord gave you!
I’ve started reading, I’m not even half-way through, and I am already humbled and encouraged by these ladies and their stories.
You have the dearest, most giving heart Lisa-Jo. Thank you so much. This was wonderful.
Oh it’s going to take me many days over Christmas time off to read through the blogs you’ve received! What an inspired idea for you to ask people to share like this! You’ve allowed so many to share “your space” here and inspired many others (myself included) to repost some blogs that meant a lot from the past year.
Briefly, here is what I will be posting later today: My husband had the flu this Wednesday-Thursday. I said to him on Thursday night “I am so grateful that you had the flu!” He gave me that frowning questioning look as if asking “why would you like me to be sick?”. My answer to that look was, “Because the last time you had “the flu”, you didn’t…it was hepatitus!
This is the longest most narrative blog I’ve written to date. Not a fan of long blogs myself. but it was such an important event in our lives that I felt the need to share. Thank you for allowing me to re-share “What Is the Moral of the Story?”
http://lauriemohr.wordpress.com/2010/08/03/what-is-the-moral-of-the-story/
Thank you for doing this.
I am totally inlove with the “sharing your story” links. I am all about sharing peoples stories. Imperfect People in love with a Perfect God!
LOVE reading these! Thank you, everyone, for sharing your hearts!
Lisa-Jo, you are just so sweet, and I love your heart for other’s hearts!!
It’s been a while since I commented… forgive me? I’ve missed you!
I’ve started blogging now!! There are only a couple of posts, so nothing too profound, (there’s so much swimming around up in my head!! I just need to get it down on the keyboard!) but I wouldn’t mind it if people read this one: http://glimpses-of-life-and-light.blogspot.com/2010/12/last-day.html
Thanks for letting us be at home, and share our hearts! God bless you :)
Thank you for sharing this!! What an amazing reminder that we are ALL created, chosen, celebrated and cherished! It touched me so that I shared that little bit on FB! Today was that day where I, myself needed that reminder!
Thank you for showing us Jesus through your writings!
