On Fridays around these parts we stop, drop, and write.
We write bold and beautiful and free. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.
Won’t you join us?
- 1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Most importantly: leave a comment for the person who linked up before you – encouraging them in their writing!
OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes on:
Catch…
GO
I write in this space because I have words that have weasled themselves into my head and demand their way out onto a page. I write in this space because there are things I wish someone had said to me, that I offer now to you. I write in this space because somewhere, someone needs to stop telling moms everything they should do, everything they need, everything they could do different and just tell them who they are is pretty awesome.
I write in this space because it’s the next best thing to coming over for tea. And chocolate.
I write in this space because I love how you’re learning the same things I’m learning. And how some days we’re not learning, we’re just aching from all the things we’ve seemed to mess up or miss or mistake.
I write in this space because sometimes our stories are the best translation of the Bible we’ve got to offer someone else.
Our real stories, our regular, ordinary, every day hurts and bumps, bruises and victories, hopes, demands and quiet, desperate dreams.
I write in this space because it’s become the most wonderful life preserver. For me. And some days maybe for you too.
I write in this space so I can say, “Catch!”
STOP

Great post! I’m glad you write in this space!
Lisa-Jo, I so appreciate your encouragement to moms. You manage to find *just* the right words, and I love the way you wear motherhood so beautifully!
i love this week’s prompt, and how it is bringing out so many different variations in the posts i’m reading! some weeks everyone seems to be thinking along the same lines. i can already tell that for many, this week’s word brings to mind many different things. how fun!
and thanks for the words you share here, and allowing us the fun of catching them! carry on, sweet one, even during the times i know it must be hard in your journey. you are touching hearts. . . influencing souls. never believe your place here is without purpose.
blessings to you this day, and may your weekend be filled with some good rest.

I caught it!! Great post. Thanks. :)
i love that i have found a blog community in which honesty about parenting and walking with christ and working in our marriages is what we talk about. so.very.encouraging.
Clever post. Love how you create community with this awesome link up. You give us opportunity to catch a bit of your inspiration and then go for it!
Lisa-Jo –
When I see lovelier ladies than me—dressed up, jewelry, looking like they have somewhere important to go, I CATCH a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and I don’t really like what I see. I tend to compare myself to other moms. But, I’d rather be playing dress up with my daughter than dressing up for lunch with the ladies. My 5-minute post is about “Stop It With the Jeans and Stilettos!” Writing for a short time is such great practice to overcome writer’s block!
I’m saying “caught it!”. lol. Thanks for your great post. Your blog is like a daily vitamin–helps renew me for the entire day and even more sometimes. Yours was the link before mine, so I’m leaving you a virtual hug :-)
Oh lovely and thank you! :)
Oh lovely; thank you! :)
Great post and prompt this week. I had to stop a sec and think about this one. It is great to not know what direction you will go when you start to write something, and then read where the prompt took you. Have a wonderful weekend!
you are a minister to mama’s for sure and a mama who ministers to little ones and big ones and I’m hoping I can have a little chat with you are Relevant! since I’m going to get to go!!! I want to hear you accent in person:}:}:}
Oh I hope you won’t be disappointed. Pete is always complaining how it’s faded almost completely since living Stateside back and forth for nearly 15 years. But yay for getting to meet in person! :)
Virtual community is a big boost – when I read a post of you I feel I am not alone, I feel I can go out and catch the glimpse of a new day.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and words of wisdom – you make a difference. TAKE CARE
