It’s Friday.
Let’s do it. Let’s just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.
For only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Won’t you join me?

2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Most importantly: leave a comment for the person who linked up before you – encouraging them in their writing!
OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes on:
Color…
GO
I love them in shocking shades of vermillion.
She is the pink and they are the purple and firework children explode in my heart. They paint me shades of amazing I didn’t know existed. They splatter me in gobs of frustration.
Angry reds spill across the countertops. There’s a trail of magenta despair some days. But the crimson, oh the crimson.
My life is on fire with color.
Kids kaleidoscope my future and my heart chameleons their moods. We nap in warm pools of Sunday afternoon yellow. Their dad serenades us bright blue in the morning and by afternoon the colors are starting to run and we jump in our own puddles of murky gray.
But each morning is a new box of crayons; fresh paints to color in this family.
No memory left blank.

Oooo….you are right! How fun and fanciful and fantastic is this….I love your words today…they paint the most gorgeous picture! And in just 5 minutes no less….I said in awe!
Love to you, friend!
This is a gorgeous five minute post. Love it.
“A life on fire with color”! Favorite words this week.
xoxo
Your words helped bring some vivid images to life in my head. Today’s five-minute friday topic will definitely bring out a great variety in posts.
I must admit that I struggled to write mine today, and had second, third & fourth guesses before posting it. Thanks for stretching me.
Thanks for being brave enough to post regardless!
This is a great topic!!! I love the post also. Metaphorical color is literal most times. It has been a while since my last 5 Minute Friday with you and participants… so glad I clicked over today. :)
Lisa-Jo, how much I loved this, and this line? This little one tucked in near the end?
“…and by afternoon the colors are starting to run and we jump in our own puddles of murky gray.”
I just adore it. I get the image in my mind and it is perfection.
Thank you, as always for inviting us to play this fun game with you, you know I love it… blessings to you and yours this weekend, sweet friend!
I love it! I’m ready to open my box of crayons this morning.
LOVE! Your words capture it SO well.
Well, that just popped my day open! Love.
Great topic! This is a season for color. And finally, just writing without worrying about it is getting a tad bit easier for me. I’ll keep practicing so that it will continue!
Yay – I love to hear that!
I love the way you talk about color with your family. It is such a part of our lives. Beautiful flow.
what a beautiful post…I love…each morning a new box of crayons…I need to go color now:)
Blessings

Yeay for color! I own a lot of black and gray, but like to have scarves and accessories for pops of color in my wardrobe. For the last several years, I’ve always had a student or two with whom I engage in a 25 days of Red and Green challenge. :) This year has been a bit more difficult due to me needing maternity clothes, and not wanting to buy a bunch of red and green that I won’t want to wear after December. :) Coloring in a coloring book was (and is, if I had time) one of my favorite pasttimes and stress relievers. In college I could be found coloring anywhere… and funnily, boys would always want to color, too. :) Great and fun topic!!
I love the idea of all the colors running together in a life. … Your linky today makes me want to go have fun with a box of crayons! :)
Such a visual post today. I just love it! Thanks so much for the great inspiration. :)
This line: “But each morning is a new box of crayons; fresh paints to color in this family.” So wonderful…makes me feel grateful… adorable kids! Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely love that each day we can start with “a new box of crayons”. So delightful.
I apologize. I joined the blog hop without reading the directions carefully. Then couldn’t remove my post. Thanks for hosting. Sorry about my mistake.

What a fabulous Five Minute prompt! It was more challenging than I thought it would be on first glance, and stretched me in good ways!
What a beautiful metaphor for the great expanse of emotions we experience daily with our families. Thank you for sharing your beautiful writing and for encouraging me to write along with you!
