So, we’ve talked bathing suits and insecurities. We’ve shared how joy in others comes from delighting first in who God has made us to be.
Because, He made us each uniquely wonderful and wildly precious individuals.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14.
So while it may seem easier to list off our negative qualities, let’s pause that broken record and instead start listing the things we think God loves about us.
I bet if you asked Him, God could go on and on and on and on about the wonder that is you. I know you could write entire libraries about all the things you love about your kids.
Do you think God feels any less about you!
Could you put down on paper at least five things you think God loves about you?
Let’s do it together. Here, I’ll go first:
- God loves that I love motherhood.
- God loves my encourager’s heart.
- God loves that I can write like my mom about the things she might have written.
- God loves that I think marriage is a living parable of how He loves us.
- God loves that I can never resist a chance to dance in the rain.
OK, your turn.
Subscribers, wanna click here to come on over and share what God loves about you?

5 of the things about me God enjoys are:
1. My heart and hands carrying His concern for justice for all His people
2. My sense of humour and general ridiculousness
3. The way I am a sister
4. My freckles
5. The way I’ve been learning to yeild more and more to Him in the hard to reach inside bits of me
I LOVE your number 2, 3 and 5. Particularly because I wish I would have thought of them :D
Especially the humor and general ridiculousness. That’s SO me! :)
God loves how the thought of adding more children to our families means my love will multiply, not divide.
God loves how my husband and I beat all the odds.
God loves how I trust Him now.
God loves how I love every living creature He has given us to take care of on our farm.
God loves my tattoos that show the world how much I love Him
God even loves my singing when I worship Him (probably the only One, LOL)
1.) God loves that I constantly use my gifts of service and encouragement to bless others.
2.) God loves that I have a tender, sensitive heart.
3.) God loves that I will one day go to the place He has prepared for me.
4.) God loves that I honor my husband and my marriage.
5.) God loves that I honor my parents and know full well the treasure they are in my life.
6.) God loves my dedication to worshiping Him in song each week. (Seems to be a running theme, here!)
I love it…love, love, love it! Thank you for doing this. Reading the other responses is a great encouragement to me and makes me even more confident in who I am by seeing how different I am from the other lovely women who’ve commented.
God is wildly imaginative and awesome, that He can create so many unique individuals who all compliment one another in their beauty!
And I just have to add a link to your post too because I think it’s the most beautiful reflection of who we are and maybe it will encourage other folks today too. It struck a real chord with me. Go, ladies, and read this http://paperphan.wordpress.com/2010/06/03/relfections/
This is just a blooper comment so I can be notified of follow-up comments. :)
1) God loves that I use the gift of encouragement He gave me.
2) God loves that I love to sing songs to Him.
3) God loves that I’m finally trying to always believe Him and His word instead of what the world says a)He is (not) b)He can(‘t) do c)I am (not), d)I can(‘t) do.
4) God loves that I don’t give up on finding the good in people, even when it takes a (sometimes) REALLY long time.
5) God loves that I’m waiting on a guy that seeks Him and will be a spiritual leader of our home, rather than giving away pieces of my heart to every guy that comes along.
Thanks SO much for this Lisa-Jo, I REALLY needed it today. Bad. :)
1. God loves how little it takes to move me to tears in worship.
2. God loves how fiercely I love my friends and family.
3. God loves how passionate I am about defending the weak, the hurt, the underdog.
4. God loves my brain, but He loves my heart more.
5. God loves my voice, but He loves my song more.
Those last two, yes, yes those!

God loves my drive to make every project the best thing I’ve ever done.
God loves my painstaking attention to details.
God loves the way I carry His word in my heart.
God loves the way I love my friends and family through baked goods. :)
Jeepers. Have we met? This could almost be me, only not so much with the word “drive.” lol :D Seeing as I often fail to complete tasks. sigh. oh well.
This question shocked me out of a negative self-talk cycle!
1) He loves that I’m self disciplined
2) He loves that I’m learning how to live with an open heart – even if it means crying in front of people unexpectedly!
3) He loves my seeking a deeper and more real relationship with him
4) He loves how I love whole-heartedly
5) He loves that I love to surprise people
6) He loves that I am FREE from old and self-destructive habits, like smoking!
7) he loves that I am a Strong and Sparkly woman, lighting up my corner of the world for HIM!
Thanks for this exercise…was my exit sign to get off the negative hamster wheel.

Funny, our pastor asked us to get alone with God the other night at Wed. night praye meeting and ask this question, “God, what do you love about me.”
And what did God say?
I love this.
1. God loves that I try… and when I fail I get back up and try again.

6. God loves that I sing my heart out in the car with the kids, praising Him during the mad dash to swimming lessons!
Loud car singing with kids is one of my favorite things too!
i think God loves:
1. that i love having a laugh – at myself and with others, and trying to make down/grumpy people smile or laugh – can’t resist :)
2. that i love so many of the cool fruits and vegetables He made, i love them :) so fresh and tasty and natural – especially all the varieties of tomatoes He made, how cool! and i think He loves that i love the way they smell (hmm, the smell of apple, or strawberries, or lime – awesome!)
3. that i love clouds
4. how i love my husband
5. that i think this baby growing inside me is like…an alien its so weird and cool and mysterious and fun and bizarre and exciting and – like an alien!!! i’m fascinated by this incredible miraculous process – wow! did i mention aliens????
my second baby was my first c-section. i felt like they just went in and cut an alien out of my body and then expected me to take it home and take care of it and love it. it was quite weird. so i totally understand the alien bit. it IS weird and cool and fun and bizarre and exciting. congrats!

4. God loves my intense work ethic.

Thanks, Lisa-Jo. I have to admit, this exercise was hard for me to do. I feel like I’m bragging, and that’s something I try not to do–but writing these things did feel nice! :)
I think that God loves my strength and faith, my love of languages and culture, my ability to weep and my inability to control it, my unabashed confidence in who I am – no apologies (not to say there aren’t times of refining or lack of confidence, haha), and they way my toes just wiggle. :D After all, didn’t he make me? the girl with Spanish in my soul, armpit sweat rings, uber weepy at times, bold and fearless, who currently doesn’t really care all that much about swimsuits despite tipping the scale at over 200 lbs. I am weak and he is strong. And I love that I feel that way.
Yay God!
You make me smile – Yay, God indeed!
I love this idea. Thanks for hosting this!
God loves me because He made me
and He loves how I talk to Him in sleepy mornings in my bed and how I squirt coolwhip straight into my kids’ mouths and how I bloom in the dark.
{LJ-I’ll definitely be stopping by again. We’ve moved 10 times in 11 years, 3 international, so I totally relate to you on so many levels!}
Our passports could be best friends… ;)

God loves that I want to be a good role model for how my son.
God loves that my heart breaks for those less fortunate than me.
God loves that I say what I feel, even if he might now always love HOW I say it.
God loves ALL of me. No matter what.
1. God loves my transparency… because He knows it all anyway.
2. God loves how I see the gray… because we are not black-and-white to Him either.
3. God loves that I sing loudly… because He hears the joy rather than the pitch.
4. God loves that I laugh at myself… because He laughs at me, too.
5. God loves my stubbornness… because He can use it for good and teach me when I use it for ill.
I took a peak – even after I wrote my Monday post and can tell everyone else how much God loves *them* – I struggle to find 5 reasons for me.
1. I love His Son
2. Family means something VERY big to me – I do not take it lightly
3. I love to talk to Him
4. smiling makes me feel good and I want to do it often

2. my love for Boston
3. my beauty
4. my love of interceding for others
5. that we can joke around together
6. everything about me
I agree that God must have a wonderful sense of humor too! ;)
Is it horrible that I see this as a list of what I’m not? Even so, let’s try
God loves me
He loves my heart to please him
He loves how I kinda know how to drive
He loves that I don’t always stop eating when I should
He loves my belly that I think is too fat
He loves my longing to be a wife and mother someday
He loves the things I don’t like about myself
He loves my love for books
He loves how much I love worshiping with others
He loves the quiet mornings and nights we have together when I just lie in bed and talk to him
He loves how I really want to see Jesus in the Bible but can’t always
He loves my insecurity, my desire to be needed and loved
He loves how I’m learning to be honest
You love me, even when I don’t love myself and I know somehow you’re working on my behalfto make something gorgeous. Teach me how to love you and find you and be near you, Lord, because I don’t know what the heck I’m doing
