I was asked that in an interview.
How do you encourage/support/champion kids?
And my answer was simple: encourage/support/champion their mothers.
Because the every-dayness of every day can get moms down. The routine. The one more load of wash. The endless round trips between school and home. The feeling that no one will even notice that we changed the toilet paper roll without being asked to.
A mom who feels loved is a full mom, more able to spill that love into her kids.
Let’s call one mom we know today and tell her how great she is and how amazed we are by what she does.
Because even if they can’t talk yet, I promise you that her kids will thank you.
So true! I’m smack in the middle of “every day-ness”- thanks for this!
LOVE that line about “a mom who feels loved is a full mom, more able to spill that love into her kids.” So true! You are a great mom, encourager of moms and champion of children (and a great person to interview)! ;)
Yes! And yes and yes and yes and yes!
Encouraging words help Mamas stand a little taller. So worth the effort every single time.
I just found out some good news about a young woman who’s going to be a first time Mother. I’ll give her a call and pour into her. This is so beautiful. Thank You.
